Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly HE Dr László Kövér discussed ways of strengthening ties with the friendyl Oman

Hungarian National Assembly Speaker, HE Dr. László Kövér paid an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman between 14-15 November during which he discussed ways for boosting economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries

Upon the invitation of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al-Mawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of Oman, HE Dr. László Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly paid an official visit - first of its kind - to the Sultanate of Oman.

During his meeting with Chairman of the Shura Council, Speaker Kövér highlighted that the Gulf region and especially the Sultanate of Oman is in the strategic focus of the Hungarian foreign policy. We are greatly committed to the further development of econimic, industrial, political and cultural ties between the two countries. Hungarian-Omani Friendship Group has recently been established within the Hungarian National Assembly headed by HE László Horváth (FIDESZ). HE Speaker invited the Omani partners to visit Hungary.


During his visit, he was received by HH Sayyid Fahad bin Mahmoud Al Said Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, he also met HE Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Khalili, Chairman of the State Council and HE Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Albusaidi, Foreign Minister.

During his meetings he discussed international and regional issues, as well as other bilateral affairs of mutual concern. From Muscat the delegation flew to Caito, Egypt to meet Hanafi El-Gebali, President of the House Representatives of Egypt.
