On March 5, 2025, Ambassador Barnabás Fodor held a meeting with Dr. Hilal Ali Hilal AlSabti, Minister of Health of Oman. The meeting was also attended by Balázs Albertini, Deputy Head of Mission, and Dr. Jumana al Abduwani, Director of International Relations & Organizations of the Ministry.
The aim of the meeting was to get to know each other's healthcare systems and identify potential areas of cooperation. Among other topics, the possibility of sharing best practices, the import of medical devices and pharmaceutical products to Oman, and increasing participation in the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program in the field of healthcare training were raised. Currently, about 10 Omani students are pursuing dental, nursing or medicine training in Hungary at universities of Budapest, Debrecen and Pécs.
